Gordon Easton, of Tyrie, is what I like to call A One-man
Folk Festival. Steeped in the tradition, he has been singing
and playing (fiddle, moothie, trump, melodion, whistle) all
his life, along with many decades of hard work with his wife
Isobel as market gardeners. In the last fifteen years, he
has become a fixture on the festival competition scene, sometimes
entering as many as five competitions.
Listen to Gordon singing a verse of the local World War I
era song, 'Tyrie Kirk'
(NEFA 1994.018.13).
