Jessie Hislop, Mintlaw, was one of the sweetest fiddlers
I ever heard, and possessed of a marvellous enthusiasm for
life and music. Even in her last year or two, she was studying
for graded music exam. Ever modest, she nevertheless competed
and performed in public in the 60s and 70s, and latterly in
the 90s with her brother Jimmy.
Listen to Jessie playing 'The Harvest Home' with Elizabeth
Stewart on accordion
(NEFA 1994.031.06).
