Remarks on Gavin Greig
S:
Gavin Greig was an outsider, not a Buchan man. Born in 1856, Parkhill, Dyce. Saw first trains in the North East. His era was actually a time of great change. Biographical info. on Greig. Made Whitehills a great school. Commissioned to put together a slim volume of what was left of North East music and song. Ended up with more than 3000 tunes. The English Folksong Society invited Greig to be their first speaker.
